Barry Stone

Artist/photographer Barry Stone lives and works in Austin, Texas where he makes photographs, drawings, collage and paintings. Seemingly a photographer first, Stone’s work has moved beyond the traditional understanding of that practice into something broader. While most of Stone’s output is deeply conceptual, his well-balanced aesthetic stands on its own merit apart from the layers of meaning he weaves into his mixed media pieces.

Thomas Roma

Photographer Thomas Roma was born in Brooklyn and, since about 1974, has made the majority of his work in Brooklyn—photographing the houses, the churches, the streets and the people—using a medium format camera he made himself. His work is stunning, gritty and beautiful, typically all at the same time; exploring that thin space between the mundane and the transcendent. Due to his practice of photographing everyday, Roma is incredibly prolific: “I come from a working class background. My understanding is that whatever you are doing, you do every day. You do it until the job is done or you’re exhausted and then you can have a drink in the evening.”

Dieter Rehm

Dieter Rehm is a German photo-artist, since 2001 he is professor at the Acadamy of Fine Arts in Munich, in 2010 he became president of the Academy. From 1978 to 1996 he designed many iconic photo and typographic covers for ECM Records.
