Recently, I’ve been reacquainted with the work of the Swiss-born designer and photographer, Jean Widmer. Though he was born in Switzerland, he did the majority of his work in France—most notably his 7 year stint as art director for the fashion magazine, Jardin des Modes, his highway signage design for the French highway system and his identity system for the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
